The New Morning Wake Up Routine #SOL16

Here I sit. The dog and kitten woke me bright and early this morning; 4:30 am seems to be their new time. The kitten stretches his arms out and paws at the dog, just a little bit mind you, and the dog trots back and forth from one end of the bed to the other. Meanwhile, the other cat is perched on top of my side. This is the way I have been woken up the last four or five mornings. I try and ignore it. I try and soothe the dog, so she'll settle back down, but to no avail. This trotting back and forth becomes a bit frantic, and then I know, there is no more sleep for me....it's time to get up. Take everyone outside. Make the coffee. Now, here I sit.

The new morning wake up routine...I don't like it!
I'm tired:)

  1. We have a similar problem here. Pierre m-e-o-w-s LOUDLY in my husband's ear, pushes his nose, walks across his chest, until he can't stand it any longer. Hard habit to break. I often wonder why she doesn't try that routine with me?! Maribethbatcho

    1. She must be smart and know you won't fall for that:)

  2. Our puppy was raised by teenage boys -she doesn't want to get up before 10am. If we take her out earlier she runs back upstairs and barks until we let her back into bed with someone. I am a morning person and want her to get up --maybe we should trade??

  3. Oh goodness, I was annoyed this morning when my dog wanted to get up at 7:30! It's all relative, I supposed. Your pug up top is too adorable. Our dogs are Puggles (pug/beagle) and we just loooove pugs! Good luck with that routine! ;)

  4. I don't have animals and a 4:30 wake-up call reminds me why! :)

  5. Let's hope the new routine is temporary. I wish you have a chance to take a nap during a day to make up for the sleep loss in the morning.

  6. I don't blame you for not being that enthusiastic about your new morning routine. Hope they start waking up a bit later each morning to "get back to normal."
